What is Status
Status is an open-source, decentralized communication platform for crypto users. It unifies social media features—encrypted messaging, peer-to-peer transactions, communities, and a Web3 browser—in one interface.
The platform's mission is to empower individuals through decentralized technology, creating a space that protects freedom and human sovereignty while ensuring resistance to censorship.

The project
The project focused on crafting an intuitive, engaging interface that served as a bridge between traditional web2 users and the emerging web3 ecosystem, making decentralized technology more accessible and appealing to a broader audience.
Through careful attention to user flows, interaction patterns with stunning visual design and a clear language, we built an application that not only met modern design standards but helped demystify the complexity of blockchain technology.
My role
Since joining Status in May 2022, I was in charge of the mobile app's design system, participating in the design of app interaction flows, as well as the UI polish for each of them.
UI Polish
One of my main responsibilities on the design team was to translate the functional flows created by my team mates into design system components, either by adapting existing and reusable elements or creating new ones.
Additionally, I ensured that the visual design, hierarchy, and interaction maintained consistency with the rest of the application, following the high quality standards established by the team.
Design system and componentization
From the tiniest atomic-level particles to the most intricate and complex structural elements, we methodically designed and implemented all components following the nested principle of Russian matryoshka dolls.
The nested structure we created proved invaluable in maintaining flexibility, as it could effortlessly scale to incorporate any new variants or requirements that emerged throughout development, without disrupting the existing hierarchy of components.

What were the benefits and impact?
We developed a unique expertise in the Web3 market, creating high-quality, well-documented designs that set new standards. Successfully delivered a connected super app experience, ensuring that users could seamlessly navigate through various features. Perhaps most importantly, we implemented a consistent and intuitive experience that works flawlessly across all devices, making the product accessible to users wherever they are.
